Disable Sony What's New
The Sony Xperia Z3 is an amazing device, it distinguishes it self from the competition by its phenomenal battery life but as far as software goes, there is one little annoying thing: The Whats New app. The Z3 isn’t the only device that has this app as the Z2, Z3 compact have the same problem. Sony: What’s New Update (3.4.a.0.5) Allows You To Disable Notifications January 30, 2016 Sony Mobile has updated the ‘What’s New’ application to build number 3.4.A.0.5 and the primary new feature is the ability to disable notifications within the settings menu. After many weeks of rumours and leaks, Sony have this morning announced the new Xperia Z4, but only in Japan. Remember that rumour of an all-metal build?
Windows defender has become even better in the Windows 10 1607 release which is great! But it has also added a first-run dialog for each user that launches the Windows Defender UI.This is kind of annoying as it doesn’t check i the settings are already configured and a normal user doesn’t have permissions to turn it on as it requires local admin permissions. So after a little Regshot usage, the registry value that is set after you press close is the following: HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftWindows DefenderUIFirstRun with a value of 0.So by using a script or a Group policy preference as shown below we can disable that end-user dialog. I haven’t found it in the group policy settings for Windows 10 1607 which I think it actually should have been. Enterprises will want to turn this of. I hope that can be useful! I recommend people deploying this to the default user profile by doing as follows:1.
Create a.REG named DisableDefenderWhatsNew.REG with the following:Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00HKEYLOCALMACHINEdefuserSOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows Defender“UIFirstRun”=dword:000000002. Create a batch file named DisableDefenderWhatsNew.cmd in the same folder as follows:Reg.exe load HKEYLOCALMACHINEdefuser C:usersdefaultntuser.datReg.exe import “DisableDefenderWhatsNew.reg”Reg.exe unload HKEYLOCALMACHINEdefuser3. Create a package pointing to the folder containing both of these folders (No program necessary).4. Add a Run Command Line Task Sequence step within the newly created package, utilizing the below command:cmd.exe /c DisableDefenderWhatsNew.cmdVoila!

Hello guys, thank you so much for this litlle thread, it was very useful. But I wanted to mention, for futur users, that the 'Block' Command does not work for me (on Lollipop). So what I tried instead was to replace the word 'Block' with 'Hide', and it worked! So, for example, if you wanna delete the small apps launcher on Lollipop, you'll have to do this:adb shellpm hide com.sony.smallapp.launcherexitadb rebootBam!! Awesome thanks!! HATED those small apps!!Posted via the Android Central App. Hello guys, thank you so much for this litlle thread, it was very useful. The pm hide command worked here (Z3 Compact on Lollipop).Perhaps someone can answer a few questions:Does this work like disabling apps, or what's difference? I suppose what is important sometimes is to keep apps like these from occupying precious RAM space, so does this process help with that?Does this work with any app, only needed to know the app reverse-domain-name in question? Also how to bring apps back?

They can still run in the background and stuff. This should work with any app, yes. Some common ones.
